Natures Dispensary was established in June 1996 in Oakham, Rutland, by myself Lesley Harris. It is a retail shop which lends itself to natural products.  The original idea was to have a Herbal Dispensary but I got carried away with all the other wonderful things that are necessary for our health and wellbeing.  

The reason for being a Herbal Dispensary is that I am a qualified Medicial Herbalist and have been since 1987, belonging to the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (MIMH). Herbalism is my main passion but along with that I feel we all need support in different ways.  So the shop and practise has other elements too.  Homeopathic remedies, essential oils, specialist foods, vitamins and minerals and things that help us to relax.

My qualifications for offering advice come from years of training in different fields.   I qualified from St Andrews University with a degree in Biochemistry aand Microbiology, and then went on to study Herbal Medicine at the School of Herbal Medicine in Tunbridge Wells.  I followed that with an Aromatherapy ITEC in London.  Initially I practised Herbal Medicine across the country in London, Goldalming,  Loughborough,  Bourne and then moved to Oakham in 1996 when I set up Natures Dispensary.
